Description

Provides emotional and practical support to individuals facing mental health challenges. Using shared life experiences to offer encouragement, build hope, and foster empowerment. Peer support can help individuals navigate recovery, develop coping skills, and connect to community resources, all while promoting personal growth and self-advocacy. 

Family Peer Support, Family peer support specialists work specifically with families of individuals who are experiencing mental health challenges. Family peer specialists offer guidance, resources, and emotional support to help families better understand the struggles of their loved ones. Offering coping strategies, enhance communication within the family, and help families connect to services and support networks, fostering a more supportive home environment for recovery. 

Peer Recovery Specialists, peer recovery specialists assist individuals in achieving and maintaining long-term recovery from substance use disorders. They offer practical support such as goal setting, skills building, and crisis intervention, alongside emotional encouragement. Through shared experiences, they serve as mentors and role models, helping individuals create personalized recovery plans and connect with resources for housing, employment, and social services.
