Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) | Tri-County Opportunities Council

LIHEAP (low-income home energy assistance program) provides utility bill assistance. Applications are accepted from October 1-August 15 or until funds are exhausted, whichever comes first. Income must fall within 200% of the poverty guideline. Call for an appointment.

**This program is not designed to pay a household's total energy costs. The program will provide supplemental assistance based on several factors. This is a one-time payment to your energy provider.

Community Response Central Navigation | York County Health Coalition

Connects youth and families with resources and support.  Navigators have the ability to “fill gaps”, either through helping agencies partner around a common goal, or through flexible funding for needs such as rent, utilities, transportation, and more.
 
Community Response is designed to reduce unnecessary involvement of child welfare and juvenile justice while increasing the informal and community supports for youth and families.  By utilizing Central Navigation, the goal is to coordinate existing resources and match participants with a resource to either solve an immediate need or develop a longer-term coaching relationship.

Emergency Financial Assistance | C.E.F.S. Economic Opportunity Corporation

When funding allows, may be able to help with limited financial assistance for basic needs such as childcare payments, rent, rent deposits, utilities, food, hygiene products, car repairs, transportation, prescription costs, etc., through the Community Services Block Grant. Energy Assistance (LIHEAP) | Mid-Iowa Community Action Inc

LIHEAP (Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program) provides supplemental help for the winter heating bills November 1st through April 30th: LIHEAP Crisis Assistance when funding available provides in a life-threatening situation fuel, heaters, furnace repair; furnace replacement for homeowners when funds available. Applications are accepted October 1-April 30 for elderly or disabled households and November 1-April 30 for all other households.

May have some crisis funding available outside the normal LIHEAP months, call local County Outreach Office for availability of funding.

Limited financial assistance provided to prevent rent eviction or utility disconnection. May also assist with rent or utility deposit, where appropriate.

First apply for assistance at the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services (through ACCESSNebraska at www.accessnebraska.ne.gov) for an eligibility determination and referrals to community agencies with Letter of Eligibility, then schedule an appointment with the Community Service Coordinator.
