Does not assist with deposits of any kind. Eligibility is based on Federal Poverty Guidelines.  All funding approved through General Assistance will be paid directly to the vendor or landlord.

Iowa Drug Card is a free discount prescription assistance program for all Iowa residents. Uninsured and under-insured patients can print a free card from www.iowadrugcard.com. The program is accepted at all major pharmacies as well as many independents and covers generic and name brand medications. There are no eligibility requirements for this free program

Affordable, comprehensive primary health care especially for those with limited resources. Includes general physical exams and immunizations.

Services are provided regardless of ability to pay through a sliding fee discount program. Fees are calculated based on household size and documented annual income. All patients are eligible to apply for the sliding fee discount, even those with insurance.

Dental Clinic offers preventative dental services including: X-rays, exams, cleanings, fillings and extractions.

Pharmacy services offered to patients. Those eligible for the sliding fee program receive their medications at 30 to 50% below the retail market. Kohl's, Walgreens, Genoa, and Walmart fill all medications. Mobile Medical Clinic services, in which a van visits different locations to see patients.

HIV/STD testing provides confidential HIV/AIDS testing and counseling.

Transportation program provides a limited number of cab vouchers.

Mental health services are provided in-house through a partnership with Lutheran Family Services of Nebraska, as well as being referred out to collaborating behavioral health agencies.

General Assistance provides temporary assistance for basic or special needs to low income persons who reside in Boone County. May help with the following financial needs when funding is available:

Rental Assistance may be available to those in need. Will not help with deposits.

Utility Assistance: November 1-April 30, anyone seeking help for utilities must go through the LIHEAP program first. Those applying for Utility Assistance from G.A. must have an acceptance or denial letter from LIHEAP.

Cremation Expense Assistance may be available to those who meet the income guidelines.

Medical Expense Assistance may be available for medical/prescription supplies and assistance with transportation to out of town appointments.

Serves as the Satellite Office for DHS Forms & Fax for Boone residents. DHS has been relocated to Story County at 126 South Kellogg, Suite 101, Ames, Iowa.

Offers a Drug Donation Repository that accepts donated medicines that are unexpired, in tamper-evident packaging, non-controlled, and do not require refrigeration. With these donations, SafeNetRx is able to provide discounted medicines to those that are underinsured, uninsured, or below 200% of Federal Poverty Level through their Charitable Mail-Order Pharmacy in Iowa.
