Workforce 180 Program | United Way of McLean County

Offers job training and certified skills that lead to long-term employment for individuals ages 18-25. Job training is in the fields of Certified Nursing Assistants, Paramedics, or trades workers (construction, plumbing, electrical, etc.). Participants learn specialized skills and earn certifications for in-demand careers.

African Culinary Academy | House of Bah Foundation

Educates members of the African diaspora to learn and prepare traditional foods from the five culinary regions of the African continent and prepare participants for a career in the food industry.

Offers interns ranging from youth to adults and seniors who are either aspiring or active culinary professionals or part of the non-professional population a chance to participate in a free 8-week comprehensive course on African Culinary Heritage in a classroom and professional setting.

Iowa Aftercare Services Network | Iowa Aftercare Services Network

Provides assistance for youth, ages 17 up to age 23, who are preparing to exit or have 'aged out' of foster care or other court ordered placement, meet the challenges of living independently and transition successfully to adulthood.Case Management provides coordination and linkage to available community resources.

Services include life skills training and experimental learning opportunities, assistance in obtaining and maintaining a safe and stable place to live, assistance in identifying and achieving personal education and employment goals, access to financial assistance to meet emergency or short-term needs, and assistance in obtaining medical care and mental health services.

Employment and Training Services | American Job Center - Lincoln

Offers employment services, including access to computers/internet for employment purposes. Assistance provided to individuals with job search, filing unemployment insurance, resumes, and cover letters. Access to partner agencies in the American Job Center include One Stop Employment Solutions/Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) job training, Experience Works, Department of Labor Office, Nebraska Vocational Rehabilitation, Goodwill/YWCA Job Outfitters, and Adult Basic Education.

One Stop Employment Solutions offers job training for adult and those unemployed due to layoffs or business closing and displaced homemakers through assistance with post-secondary education, on-the-job training, work experience, and career guidance.

Nebraska Department of Labor offers employment and training services for workers, job seekers, and businesses in the building, with many services also offered through self-service electronic access. Services to job seekers include, but are not limited to: assessment of skill levels; career guidance; job search assistance; workshops; job referral and placement assistance; and reemployment services offered through the NEres program. Services offered to employers include, but are not limited to: referral of job seekers to job openings; matching job requirements with job seeker experience; assistance with special recruitment needs; analyzing hard-to-fill job orders; assistance with job restructuring; and industry counseling and guidance.

Nebraska Vocational Rehabilitation assists people with disabilities in preparing for, finding, and keeping jobs. Helps businesses recruit, train, and retrain employees with disabilities. Through this "dual client" approach, the agency assists individuals with injuries, illness, or impairments achieve competitive employment and increased independence, and assists business owners and employers through full services business consultation on a variety of business an disability-related areas. Every other Thursday 8:30 am-11:30 am.

Offers free Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) classes to individuals interested in finding employment in healthcare. The two-week CNA training course covers essential skills for patient care, including healthcare basics, patient assistance, vital sign monitoring, infection control, nursing procedures, communication, safety, medical terminology, ethics, and specialized care.

Elevate Young Adult Workforce Program | Goodwill Industries of Northern Illinois

Helps youth and young adults obtain full time sustainable employment at livable wages. In this process, if training/schooling is needed to reach this goal, the program can assist with tuition for schooling and job placement. Provides supportive services such as transportation, childcare assistance, and required materials for schooling.

Other services offered include placement in Paid Work Experience (temporary work up to 350 hours) and  On-The-Job training employer subsidy program (permanent full-time work).

Bus Driver Training | Regional Office of Education #35 (LaSalle, Marshall, Putnam)

Offers bus driver training. Providing two types of Bus Driver courses. An 8-hour initial training is required for all new school bus drivers prior to getting a bus permit and 2-hour refresher workshop is required in the 12-month period prior to renew a school bus permit.
