Funds raised in the community are distributed to programs based on United Way focus areas:

- HEALTHY COMMUNITY: Invests in strategies that promote access to preventive and ongoing healthcare, recovery, and wellness supports across the lifespan. This includes maternal and child health, substance misuse prevention and recovery, and partnerships with CHAD agencies that deliver essential health services.

- YOUTH OPPORTUNITY: Focuses on ensuring every child and youth has access to equitable opportunities for growth, learning, and success. Strategies include childcare and early childhood education, in-school, after-school, and summer learning, youth literacy development, college and career readiness, and youth behavioral health.

- COMMUNITY RESILIENCY: Strengthens community resilience by ensuring individuals and families can meet their most basic needs while building pathways to stability. Strategies include homeless outreach and emergency shelters, housing stabilization through emergency rental and utility assistance and transitional living assistance, disaster relief and recovery, food access, and victim safety and recovery.

- FINANCIAL SECURITY: Focuses on increasing economic stability and upward mobility for individuals and families. Strategies include adult education and literacy, job training and career pathways, and financial education and coaching.

- Assists individuals, businesses, and other non-profit organizations to establish permanent endowment and temporary funds, through gifts and bequests, within the confines of one large foundation.

- Foundation funds are used to provide grants to non-profit organizations and scholarships to students within the Fox River Valley, including the Greater Aurora Area and the Tri-Cities.

Provides public foundation established to address the needs of girls and women in the Greater Des Moines area. Lead community improvement by assuring the well-being of girls and women through education, grant-making, and philanthropy.

Offers grants to Teachers and Parent-Teacher Organizations. 
Offers four $1000 scholarships to students in the area served.

Offers free books to children age 0-5.
