Community Response Central Navigation | York County Health Coalition

Connects youth and families with resources and support.  Navigators have the ability to “fill gaps”, either through helping agencies partner around a common goal, or through flexible funding for needs such as rent, utilities, transportation, and more.
 
Community Response is designed to reduce unnecessary involvement of child welfare and juvenile justice while increasing the informal and community supports for youth and families.  By utilizing Central Navigation, the goal is to coordinate existing resources and match participants with a resource to either solve an immediate need or develop a longer-term coaching relationship.

Offers services such as transportation assistance (doctor's appointments, grocery store, hair appointments, etc.), help with yard work and minor home repairs. All services are provided by volunteers in the community.

*The office is located in the Lion's Park Shelter House at 72nd and Prairie Avenue.

Improving Our Neighborhood (ION) - Exterior Homeowner Repairs | Des Moines City Offices

The ION team works with homeowners to make external repairs, connect to resources, and navigate the home repair system. Will also collaborate with partner organizations such as Habitat for Humanity, Rebuilding Together, Polk County Emergency Repair, and Neighborhood Finance Corporation to get repairs done.

Senior Home Repair Assistance Program | Senior Services Associates

Assists property homeowners, who need a small home repair completed in their home in McHenry County. Senior Services maintains a pool of volunteers and service organizations that are able to help with small handyman tasks and yard maintenance.

Staff can also provide a list to connect seniors to preferred professional service providers and individuals for private pay who have consented to a background and reference screening process. This list is a reliable substitute to choosing an unknown service provider from the phone book. Preferred providers are available to perform general home repairs and odd jobs, plumbing, window washing, waste removal, lawn maintenance, snow removal, etc. Based on availability, financial assistance may be an option for seniors who qualify."

Home Repairs and Handicap Ramps | Habitat for Humanity Quad Cities

Repairs and rehabilitates owner-occupied homes of low-income elderly, disabled, and families with children on a sliding fee scale to the homeowner. Handicap ramps may be built as part of this program as well. Work is supported entirely by contributions of time, labor, material, and money. All able-bodied residents of the home are expected to assist in making repairs.

*Note that the following services are not provided: roofs, foundations, siding, furnaces, lead remediation, chimneys, or work on mobile homes (other than wheelchair ramps, which may be built for mobile homes).

Home Preservation Program | Greater Des Moines Habitat for Humanity

Offers affordable home repair services for low-income homeowners, allowing them to get work done now and pay for it later – sometimes years down the line. Homeowners are invited to apply for the program and are accepted based on their household income and assessed home value. Services may include exterior repairs (such as roofs and siding), critical home repair (such as furnaces and water heaters), weatherization (such as windows and insulation), and accessibility (such as ramps, grab bars, and bath modifications).

Aging in Place Services | HomeWoven

Free home repairs and modifications for low-income homeowners age 60 and over. Services include plumbing, electrical, roofs, gutters, flooring, grab bars, handrails, ramps, tub/shower modifications and other critical repairs.

Work is done by staff, volunteers and trade professionals.

Owner-Occupied Rehabilitation Program | Dallas County Local Housing Trust Fund, Inc.

Financially assists homeowners within Dallas County with housing repairs and correcting code violations by offering forgivable loans. It is funded through grants. The mission of the Dallas County Local Housing Trust Fund is "to provide and expand safe and affordable housing to low income residents of Dallas County"

PROGRAM ELIGIBLE ACTIVITIES include:
1) Basic structural repairs: (a) exterior walls (b) roof and roof structure (c) foundation (d) floor joists and ceilings
2) Building systems: (a) electrical (b) plumbing (c) heating
3) Weatherization: (a) insulation (b) windows (c) siding
4) Handicap Accessibility: (a) exterior ramp (b) bathroom facilities

REQUIREMENTS:
1) the property to be assisted must be located within Dallas County
2) proof of home ownership of the applicant must be provided. The property to be assisted must be the homeowner's primary residence and a single family structure
3) property taxes and/or mortgage payments must be current and paid to date and there cannot be any mechanics liens on the property to be assisted
4) income limits of the household must fall at or below 80% of the Area Median Income (AMI) for Dallas County. Priority is given to households at 50% or less of the Area Median Income

Emergency Home Repair | Polk County Iowa Offices

Provides emergency repairs for eligible low income families throughout Polk County. Families with incomes equal to or below 80% of MFI may call to apply for assistance. Property must be assessed for less than $200,000. Families may apply for emergency assistance more than once, until the maximum limit has been reached. Maximum amount is 20% of the homes assessed value up to $12,000.

Provided at no cost if furnace is malfunctioning. Income must be at or below 200% of poverty guidelines. Applicant must be a county resident and homeowner. Applications are accepted on a year round basis but funding is limited.

Offers small to minor home repairs to those in need. Repairs must be small and can include (but not limited to) repairs such as painting, minor plumbing, ramp installation, or window screen replacements.

Critical Housing Repair | Habitat for Humanity of Marion County

Offers the Critical Housing Repair program, which allow families or individuals who live in and own their home, the chance to apply for potential home repairs. When HFH prepares for a new CHR project, an open application process begins. Candidates will be selected following equal housing guidelines and based on the following criteria: need for adequate shelter, willingness to partner, meet the financial guidelines, and live in Marion County.

Services for individuals who need help due to a health condition, physical impairment, or are homebound for other reasons. Services include: transportation to non-emergency medical appointments, building wheelchair ramps, modified steps, steps and railings, and running errands or grocery shopping.

Provides minor home repairs or modifications to rehabilitate substandard homes with an emphasis on health and safety issues. Some typical repairs under this program include, but are not limited to plumbing and electrical upgrades, roof repairs, and new heating systems.

Labor of Love | United Way of Eastern LaSalle County

Provides free home repairs to eligible homeowners, on the first Saturday in October. Repairs are prioritized to keeping home warm, safe, and dry.
